There is plenty of evidence over the last two years to dispute that. A D3200, D5200 and in 2013 a D7100! If you mean they have given up on a semi pro dSLR, then maybe. If one has not been released by the close of 2013, then perhaps that is the end of a semi pro spec dSLR. Comparing the D700 and D800 to a DX D300s type dSLR is not a fair comparison.
