Coming in late and just sitting down to read this lengthy thread. My take John E is that the 1 second D7100 buffer is a dead giveaway that we will be getting a D400 equivalent
Great great camera is the D7100, remarkable how many features it actually exceeds the D600 on too. But it is not a D400, so I continue to expect one.
Meanwhile I see Thom Hogan weighed in today with a blog article with his thoughts on what a D400 will need to be and when:
"What a D400 Should Be Apr 8, 2013 (commentary)--We're getting near the point where we either finally get our D300s replacement, or we never get one. A lot of you believe that the mythical D400 is the Rip Van Winkle of DSLRs, albeit destined to never wake up. I still believe that Mr. Van D400 will eventually wake, and my best guess would be he needs to break his slumber late this summer... " http://www.bythom.com Best regards, SteveK
