"RE: Does the 80-400 AFS change your mind in anyway?"
NeilThanks!Of course, there's not a trace of obsessive compulsive behaviour in ANY of us, right? In the UK, I think we just call the activity you describe as 'Birding' and those who do it as 'Birders'. I've heard about it a fair bit and it all sounds jolly interesting. My only interest in the birds is that the photo equipment required for birding and military aircraft photography have some similarities. You know; long lenses, poor light/ locations sometimes, recording and identifying a subject rather than making a nice photo. As well as taking really nice photos, when you can.I sometimes take 'photos' just to identify an individual aircraft- by it's serial- so resolution is everything. Thus the D400 please!Like a Birder, sometimes it's a long and rough hike with the camera to get in place, so the toughness and sealing of a pro build cam are valued.Personally, I don't really see the value in the new 80-400.I'd pay right up for a 36mp DX cam though. Sounds like you're having fun with your birds though!
