Have I given up? Not quite...but I won't wait too much longer. If we don't hear something in the next few months I will have to go with something like the D7000 (or its replacement?). It doesn't have all the features I want, and I don't think the build is quite as robust as the D200/D300, but (as always) life is about making choices and the D7000 image quality is significantly better than what I have. I have lasted this long because my D200 works as well today as it did the day I got it (thank you Nikon!). I do want better dynamic range and better high-ISO performance, but I don't really *need* it - therefore my flexibility. I think Nikon's whole development program/schedule was significantly affected by the earthquake/tsunami in Japan and the later floods in Thailand, but we are getting far enough from those events that things should be getting back to "normal" pretty soon.
