The D200 uses more power for each shot than the newer bodies by design. The newer ones use sensors built on CMOS technology and the D200 is one of the last bodies to use the CCD technology. When I got my D200 it came with 2 batteries, one OEM and one aftermarket high capacity. I used the high capacity battery with all the bodies it fit in until it died last fall. I don't know what it's total life was because I got it when it was 2 years old. Happy to say all bodies are working fine and the only casualty was the extended lifer. I don't know if I'd get a new high capacity battery, as I have a grips my main bodies except the D200 which I don't shoot regularly anymore.
Will shoot for fame...fun...food... a heck I'll shoot anytime anywhere.
