This has been raised elsewhere (not a critism) and it made me realise that you can actually get access to all three focus methods:
1. manual - leave the button alone and use the lens focus ring
2. press and release - get single focus
3. press and hold - get continuous focusing

Of course, you have to have the focus selector set to "c" to achieve this, but it really makes a huge difference - IMO. It also means that you do not have to change switches on the lens to get manual focus, which might be the difference between getting and missing the shot.
