I kept my Minolta 5000 and 7000 as backups for two years before giving them away. Even a Coolpix 950 was better than waiting for the film to come back so I could throw most of the double prints away.
After a Kodak 760 and D1 there was no way I would even consider going back.
You might consider converting the D200 to IRA. It also might be good for birding? I never used mine for that but it was a good travel camera. And, you might consider donating or giving it away like I did with my unsellable 10-24 lens. I hope it now has a better home than my shelf.
