In my D200 I am currently using: 1. SanDisk Extreme 4GB size CompactFlash 40MB/s UDMA; 2. SanDisk Extreme 8GB size CompactFlash 60MB/s UDMA; 3. Lexar Professional 8GB size 400x CompactFlash UDMA.
I prefer these current higher speed cards (over the older/slower ones I purchased when the camera was younger) because of the faster times when uploading to the computer. All these cards have worked flawlessly for many months.
I have heard that you can use larger cards (16GB - maybe larger), but I have never tested them myself.
As an aside: I have used both SanDisk and Lexar cards since December 2005 without any problems. I don't doubt that you had problems with your Lexar cards, but I wonder if you are aware that there are many counterfeit cards being sold? Whenever you purchase items such as this, make sure you are dealing with a very reputable seller - especially if you are buying online.
