If the problem is low light shooting then the D200 does have issues above 800ISO - I shoot in the UAE where we don't really have low light issues - that's what made me stick to my D200 when we moved here. However, if you are having ISO related issues then upgrade - I would be looking at the D600 or maybe a D700 and take the leap into FX. Or wait to see what the D400 (if it arrives) will be like...

If you just want to buy some gear (and lets face it we all like buying gear!!! ) then I would look at lenses - always invest in lenses until the body lets you down, then buy a new body...
