A semi-pro DX model, 18mp max, that is built like and performs as well as the D800 other than lower resolution, would have to be a big seller. They could even offer a D400e version for a couple hundred more and have the perfect compliments to the D800/e. That said, I'm still very happy with my D300s as I should be. It's an incredible camera right up there with the D700, just starting to feel a little dated when I compare it to newer models, but only in the image quality department. It's still worlds ahead of the D7000 and D600 in build quality and features, which mean a lot to me.
