I hear you all saying that you want a D400 to replace your D300 bodies. Some of us want the D400 to replace our D200 bodies, which have served us well but which are now well past their prime. Personally, I chose to keep my D200 because the D300 did not offer enough of an advancement. I have been patiently waiting for the D400 ever since.
Here's the list of features I especially love from my D200: 9 frame auto-bracketing, a command selector that is not cluttered with annoying scene modes, good fps, DX sensor, solid build, CF cards.
I am just hoping that we will see a D400 soon, with professional range features. The D600 may look sexy with its FX sensor, but it is definitely not the successor for either the D200 or the D300.
