My thoughts are that Nikon production was pushed back a year with the disasters last year. So I am withholding any judgement regarding the fate of the D400 until this coming spring.
What I do not see Nikon doing is abandoning the $1699US price point. With the end of the D300S production we have a gap from $1199 to $2099. Which I believe Nikon will put a product into that hole. I do not see how the body could be a FX given the new D600 and I also do see a D7000 upgrade being priced $400 above the D7000's current price point.
