In my case I travel with a D4 and V1. Works well for me, as a compact the V1 blows the doors off of other compacts. I cannot stand CDAF and it fits right into my NEF-based workflow so I won't look too seriously elsewhere in the compact market.
If I had the luxury to do so, I would look seriously at the FujiFilm XE-1 and their very nice looking primes. Also the new Olympus OM-D E something or other gets RAVES. And I'd have to guess the NEX-5R, NEX-6, NEX-7, and RX-1 are no slouches either.
