Thanks, Chris, for the reference, which I struggled through. Even after perusing it, I still can't see any purpose, other than to flaunt extreme geekiness, in quoting archaic vacuum tube values in reference to modern digital cameras.

For example in Popular Photography Sept, page 78, they write "The newly developed 1-inch sensor in Sony's pocket sized Cyber-shot... measures precisely 13.2mm x 8.8mm." How in the world, even very approximately, can these millimeter sensor dimensions relate to 1-inch, which is 25.4mm?
