If you get the exposure right a D200 works well up to ISO 800 when processed with DxO. It's only depressing if you keep looking at actual pixels instead of paper prints or downsized web images.

I find it particularly good for B&W. This image used the internal B&W preset. This is how the ISO 800 jpg looked out of the camera, just sharpened very slightly.

I do agree however that ISO 100-200 gives superior results with colour.
