It's going to be at least that long and Photokina is only a rumour, but a reasonable one I feel. In any event it will tell us perhaps if a future for a pro DX dSLR still exists.
For me, even if it is announced in September I will have no intention on buying for 6 months after that. That's not a new decision of mine as I always would wait for users to report back after I had a bad copy of a D7000, but after the Auto Focus problems with the D800's, pre-ordering would be an absolute no no. I would be so upset and annoyed if I had been one of the many users who are having to send their models back to Nikon.
