If you're using the histogram to determine exposure, you should not get blown highlights as you should be adjusting your settings so that neither end of the histogram is clipped (unless the contrast range is too great). However, unless you use the color histograms, you could get overexposure in one of the color channels that wouldn't necessarily be evident using just the luminance histogram.
