Hello, So I'm trying to become a bit more scientific in my photographic methodology. Specifically, I've begun using the histogram and meter in trying to determine optimum exposure (instead of just eyeballing the image in the LCD after the shot). What I've noticed is that using the histogram to determine correct exposure seems to lead to an overexposed image while using the camera meter results a more correctly exposed image. I started doing this to determine my correctly exposed 0EV image for a HDR series of bracketed shots. When I use the meter, the shot seems to be correctly exposed but the hitogram seems to be consistently overexposing the image with many blown highlights. I'm sure I'm doing or setting something incorrectly but I'm not sure what. I'm using my D300s with Tamron f2.8 17-55.
