Sure it does. I shoot mine mostly with older glass like the Nikon 35 - 70 2.8 and the Nikon 80 to 200 2.8 which is a fraction of the price of the new 2.8 lenses. I never print anything at labs anymore. I have printed D300 images in the past at a lab as big as 20 x 30 with splendid results.
I am taking the D300 to Maui in July so I am reading the manual and "Mastering the D300" book .. for the third or fourth time .. makes everything seem new.
I might buy another DSLR but I don't think it will be for three or four thousand dollars. For four grand I could almost get a 300 2.8 or a new pro DSLR and a 300 f4.
I still miss the Nikon F100. Except for the fact it shot film it was an amazing camera.
