And maybe the question for discussion is something simple. My understanding is that you cannot adjust exposure in post processing.

You can modify the value of light recorded by rendering it differently in post processing, but the raw value is the same. With that potentially comes noise and banding.

Any reference to adjusting exposure in View or Capture is simply an editing step applied to a RAW file.
