I hope a reply from me (just an average joe) doesn't spoil your thunder.
I've been using a D7000 for a good year now. I picked up a used D200 a little while ago to use for my outdoors/hikes etc - my don't care if I bang it around a little bit camera.
Well... I like the feel and controls of the D200 better. So much so, I've bought a used D300 as well. I love the way D200/D300 implements bracketing vs. the D7000. I don't care about movies on a DSLR. I have good glass. My leaning right now is I am getting great results with the D200 and D300, and I might sell the D7000. Haven't totally decided yet, but that's the way I'm thinking.
