I have a 11 mo old D300. I took the plastic cover off three weeks ago for the first time and saw a streaking or foggy smearing behind the glass...most obvious along three of the four edges. Shine a light into it , and you will get nauseus. THe remainder of the glas is streaked a a diagnol. I went to a local Best Buy while in another state to check another body, and their D300 had the same ####! It does not seem to affect any quality...I went so far as to open all doors in camera and put in a dehumidified room to see if I could see it change...no change because it looks like humidity and I do live in Florida) I called Nikon...of course , they have never heard of the issue...and folks, Nikon Service is in the toilet...so I too am afraid to send it in....but I only have One month left on the warranty....thoughts?
I just ordered the older version 70-200 VR (NAS IS HELL)...if that works out I am giving up on Nikon...Quality control and service is in the Toilet. My D80 is hot pixeled, the first D300 I bought came complete with a scratched low pass filter...and now this....Im ####. THoughts?
