I attend my daughters' artistic gymnastics meets. The gymnasts' movements are very fast - but almost always predictable even on the floor. The gyms are usually poorly lit, so I mostly shoot with my 85 mm f/1.8 and 135 mm f/2.0 primes wide open. ISO 1600 and 1/800s are usual settings for me.
I end up with too many out-of-focus pictures especially when trying to get a series of pictures of tumbling passes etc. Large apertures and focal lengths with shallow depths of field are naturally a part of the problem.
Is there anything you'd change in these settings: - AF Continuous - AF-C 9 points - a1 bRelease-focus - a3 Normal (3) - AF-ON button for focusing - 10 FPS ?
