Presumably you'll be delivering JPEGs out of camera, which means you can apply noise reduction by selecting an appropriate High ISO NR value in the shooting menu.

Personally, if I was confident the resulting images wouldn't be printed larger than about 5x7, I'd be comfortable setting High ISO NR to "high" and shooting at 12,800 (H1.0) ISO as far as noise performance goes. The color rendition does suffer a bit above 6400, so I'd try to stay at 6400 and below if possible. In a pinch, though, I'd go up to H1.0 to keep the shutter speed up if I had to,
