I hardly ever do a wet clean. When changing a lens in the field, or at home, i always turn off the camera, blow off any dust around the lens mount, by breath or by blower if time permits, lens mount turned down, remove lens, quick blow of air into mount/mirror box, mount new lens, turn back on and shoot. This seems to work quite well for me. Wet clean may occur about once a year if it really needs it.

Cheers,
Gene
