I'll second Ned's comments. You should check this out in a controlled lighting situation, using incandescent lighting. Florescent lighting tends to vary with 60 cycle current, so if you're shooting faster than 1/60 you may not be getting the whole spectrum of lighting in each shot. Some venues are worse than others, but shooting bursts in basketball in some venues it seems that the lighting is different in every frame -- because it is!
