That depends on what bodies you are looking at. Possibilities:

• D300s: a slight upgrade — faster FPS, dual slots, more control buttons

• D3s: better (and higher) high ISO performance, faster focus, faster FPS, the pro body, but you lose the 1.5 crop factor

• D4: even better than the D3s

The pro body gives is more rugged, larger and heavier, and may balance better with big lenses. It is also more tiring to handhold.

Another possibility would be to invest in a longer, faster lens: a 300mm, 400mm, or the 200-400 zoom. A perhaps a TC.

Or a combo: a used D3s and a new lens…
