"Comments like this are just ignorant. People have been shooting motoGP for 50 years. I've seen Isle of Man TT shots from the 60s. How many fps do you think they had then? The iconic images of Indy, LeMans, etc. from the black and white film era. How many FPS then? Sports and Motorsport photography is not about fps. It's about SKILL, planning, and technique."
Times change Perrone..
Don't call my statements ignorant!
I have shot Motorsport on and off since 1972 BTW. Lenses from 8mm f2.8 to 800 f5.6mm. When you use an 800mm lens, the DOF is very small, and a fast frame rate is better to get a few shots in that small area when they are in focus. I have a 300mm f2.8 AF-S, 500mm f4 AF-I, and 800mm f5.6 ( manual .
I do know what I am talking about, whereas I feel that you dont.
