It is quickly losing it's status as the tool of choice for me. Today will be the second time I do not take my D3s to shoot ambient light basketball. Choosing instead to shoot my D600/D800 combo. I am going to do some testing with the D7000 today as well.
I've shot the D600 back to back with the D3s for a couple months now. Without resizing, I would estimate the D600 to be maybe 1/3 to 1/2 stop behind the D3s. Normalizing output, the D600 is as good or better. At least out to ISO 6400 where my testing stopped.
