Thanks for the correction on the D200 shutter life. While it's obviously a little better performance, percentage wise, I still am having to replace well before I had hoped. Oh well.
The D3s I am renting has 141k on it...a very nice camera.
There is a D3 locally with about 2k shutter clicks on it, for sale for about $2,200. I am about $800 short of that in cash.
Also, given my luck with used equipment bought from private sale (in addition to replacing the D200 shutter, I had the VR motor go bad on my 18-200 VR I lens, costing $150 to fix), I'd almost rather go Adorama or B&H, because at least there's a reputable company behind it and, I think, you can get a warranty for it.
