How big are you thinking of enlarging? The D3X will clearly allow for "monster-size" enlargements and medium format quality. Admittedly, I have never used either, but my D3 has allowed me to enlarge to at least 16x20 (never enlarged bigger than that) and render beautiful prints. Something you might want to consider as well is that the D3X files are huge, and can really slow down your processing if you don't have a really powerful processor and a large amount of RAM.
