You are not alone Linwood.
After a lifetime of great shots (exposure-wise) with speedlights, I began getting blowout images (not just the highlights).
My paws, dog-like hands, had the bracketing working and without my eye glasses I couldn't see it.
It took me a few days to figure it out.

Also related, I let someone at the ANPAT check on my custom settings.
He made some changes without noticing and I ended up with two days of jpegs only. I SHOOT RAW!
