I've had two replies from Robert Salomon of Giottos USA. He's been quite cooperative but I think that there is a misunderstanding which is causing trouble.
Per his second reply: "The Aegis is mounted directly to the frame surrounding the LCD screen. Not to the screen itself."
I get the impression that the SP 8306 is being mounted to the D4's built in LCD screen protector, not to the camera body framing/surrounding the screen protector.
Perhaps someone with the SP 8306 mounted on a D4 can check and verify that the SP is attached to the glass, not to the body surrounding the glass.
Perhaps someone with the SP 8304 mounted on a D3 can check and verify that SP attaches to the body surrounding the camaera's built in LCD Screen Protector and thus does *not* obscure any of its display.
I've spent a day researching sizes and here is part of what I found: (Note: Preview is showing much black space before my table. You may need to scroll down a lot.)
Per the Giottos page at URL: http://www.giottos.com/SP.htm TESA 4972 Double side tape is used to hold the AEGIS Screen Protector to the the camera. It is said to seal the LCD and prevent liquid or dirt from "reaching into the inside of LCD and display." The page gives specs on transmission.
Per Robert's statement and per the above, it seems that the intent of the Giottos AEGIS is to mount to the camera body around the camera's built in LCD protector.
Per my table above it seems that the D4, D800, and D600 have identical LCD displays and built in screen protectors.

Bob Salomon, the USA Distributor...sent.
"In the USA the SP 8306 is sold for your camera. The 8321 is not imported as the 8306 works."
********** BOTTOM LINES: 1) The dimensions of the AEGIS LCD screen protector may be stated by Giottos differently for different camera bodies. On some I think that the dimensions are of the AEGIS protector, and it is bigger than the protective glass screen mounted in the body. On others, the dimensions may be those of the protective glass plate in the camera body.
2) It seems that Giottos makes an 8000 series protector for the D800's main LCD Screen, and that the D800's LCD screen may be identical to that of the D600 and the D4, so the SP 8321 might be ideal for the D4, but the USA Distributor doesn't want to carry it. Perhaps because the distributor sees the SP 8306 dimensions matching that of the D4's integral glass plate.... So the 8306 will mount *to* the glass plate, not to the body, thus obscuring some active area and not providing the intended sealing around the body's integral LCD protector. Bah, Humbug!!
