My D200 and my D300 came with very effective LCD screen protectors. They are hard plastic which are attached mechanically by snapping into mounting notches. They are easy to remove. I assumed that my D4 would come with one too. Surprise, surprise, I unboxed it today, planning to use it a good deal at a Renaissance Festival this weekend, and found that Nikon no longer supplies such protectors. I'm disappointed that the dealer from whom I bought the camera on Tuesday didn't alert me to that deficiency. I called today and learned that the dealer does not have any protector for it in stock. It will order a Hoodman protector. I hate to risk two days of heavy use without such protection.
The D4 has a 3.2" (8 cm) TFT LCD Monitor. Does it need protection?
