I'd think if you are shooting in Vivid, you are already pushing the saturation as far as the camera is designed. Maybe you can still apply a tone curve, but if you are shooting RAW, you can always adjust in post. Adobe products disregard in-camera settings except the white balance settings. So, Elements will not help you much. With all that said, Adobe has done a great job with the new ACR in PS CS6 and LR4.
