HI Ken, It sounds like your shooting habits are much like mine. May I ask what size do you normally print? And what size would you like to print if you had the necessary sized printer?
For me, these are the crucial questions. My D2H (two of them) has been adequate for me up to now but my new 3880 Epson printer allows for larger print sizes than my old 2200. I want to take advantage of the added size capability. I feel my D2H runs out of resolution at the 3880's maximum 17 inch paper size. Oh, the prints look good but they are slightly soft. It's noticeable. It bothers me.
So, the solution for me is a new camera with lots more resolution, namely the D2X or the D2XS. So, my question for you is dealing with the print size issue.
I certainly love my D2H's and I feel I would like D2X/XS even more. But that assumes the print size issue is solved. No one on this thread has really addressed this question. The move to the much more expensive D3 is more than my hobby retirement based budget can stand. I'm sure the D3 would solve my problem and I would love the camera but I don't want to spend the money.
