HI, Good idea. But, I'm not a pro so my camera purchases cannot be written off as an expense. Nor am I making money from my photography. And I'm doing photography on a retirement income. So cost is an issue.
Used cameras a generation old is roughly where the sweet spot is for me. As for the size of the upgrade, I'm sure there is a grain of truth in your statement. But I also think you are overstating your case. If you are, you are not doing me any favors. But I can't afford it no matter the accuracy of your case.
