"RE: How does focus tracking work during burst (D4) "
I have a D800E that i recently switched to from my D300s. I shoot a lot of birds in flight and underwater shots. On the 300s I found dynamic worked better than 3D and 21 points were better than 9 or 51 points. The longer focus tracking time allows you stay locked on longer. On the D800E I really like 3d with 51 points and long focus tracking time. Dynamic works fine as well, but 3d yields more keepers.I use focus on button only with dynamic and so far I like the shutter focus better for 3d....but with more use I may also prefer the focus on button.I know that I don't have a D4 (would gladly take one as a donation) but with similar AF systems it should work the same.Hope this helps
