Thanks to all of you for your kind responses. Yes, I failed to mention that I release the AF-ON button prior to moving the camera to the final composition. This is such a simple issue that I appreciate your taking the time to respond; however, it was bothering me because I began to wonder if there was just something that I did not understand and had taken for granted. I will change nothing regarding my focusing methodology and will turn my attention to things that are important. Again, thanks so much for your help! It is wonderful that we have this forum to learn from each other!
