What have your experiences been with Nikon customer service?
I tried to find a link to the recently mentioned, Distortion Data Control update on Nikon USA's website without success. Initially, I found the update on this forum, but I'm always cautious about downloading software from third parties. So I tried to get more information from NikonUSA.
I signed in to my account and inquired about the update. Laura G nastily responded, "Answering your question, as you could read on the link that i previously sent you, there's NO Distortion control data update for you D4 in the latest firmware update."
I posed my question to NikonUSA about the Distortion Data Control update 3 days BEFORE the latest firmware (1.02/1.02) update was released. That was the link she's referring.
I even included the link from this website and Nikon wouldn't confirm or deny anything about the link to the software. They claimed only supervisors could open the link.
Based on the responses I received to the Distortion Data Control update question and follow-up telephone calls, Nikon customer service employees have very sour dispositions. They seem to be smart-alecky and their knowledge is limited.
I never received a normal response. Normal in this case would have been, for example, the Distortion Data Control software is only for XXXXX customers.
I've been a NPS since the early 90s except for 2009-2011.
Why is it so difficult to get an answer to a straightforward question from NikonUSA?
