The images are not soft, they are out of focus. It seems that the camera or lens is back-focusing.

I ran my image through Capture NX2 and ViewNX to locate the focal point to ensure that it was not me blurring the shot.

I was at F4, 1/100th, ISO 1250. I was shooting w/ 70-200 VR II. Earlier in the day everything was working normally, but at some point something happened.

I have opened a support case w/ Nikon and sent them images to review.
