My D4 came in a month ago. I had pre-arranged for a fellow Nikonian to back me up as buyer. My D800 arrived the same day. After playing with it for about 20 minutes, I came to the conclusion that it was better than the D3s in every way. The new card is faster, the new battery is better. I have handled one since and have not changed my mind. If I were being paid to take pictures at the Olympics, the D4 is the camera I would not be without.
However, for half the price and less weight, I went home with the D800. It has taken me the full month to adjust to all the controls and settings on the D800 but I am finally getting some of my best ever images, and the camera was keeping up with the MotoCross action (2,000 pictures in two hours) yesterday.
The D600 may be my next (second)camera to replace the D7000. I am waiting for something cheaper and lighter than a used D3s.
