Having received my D4 in the middle of a house move has not allowed me to do the complete testing as other Nikonians but I do have one. My initial opinions are this. If you have a D3s and are not interested in video stay put. If you have an older or lesser model spend the extra $, you will be rewarded with some of the newer electronics over time. We can't do anything about government regulations of batteries so don't complain. I like the form factor of the Sony card, much more solid than sd cards. Performance is fine and I still can use CF cards. With 16gb cards that is about 900 raw images without changing. Plenty for most of my wildlife endeavors. For those Apple users out there I would ask how many Thunderbolt devices can you connect to your computers? I will also submit this thought to ponder very few photographers or Nikonians and their friends have identical wants, needs, methods or budgets. What works for me in the high mountains may not work in the Florida coastal area. So wait till there are enough people have the new cameras in their hands, read their findings and look for those who match you style, then make your decision. Not those who make comments on specs alone.
