D1X for astrophotography??

it discusses the use of digital (con)(pro)sumer cameras with astrophotography. So, not the specialised CCDs, but regular digicams.
I think there'll be no problem at all to use the D100/D1x/h/etc SLR for astro photography.
Note though, that the longer you expose, the more noise you will have (same with film), but taking multiple photos, and then stacking the results will give an excellent result.
