I am a film enthusiast who is curious about progress in the digital revolution. So I drifted over to this part of the site to see what I might learn.
This energetic dialogue about Michael Reichmann's article has been a fascinating read and education for me. He didn't appear to make any outlandish claims as far as I can see. The comment about 55 mph and the sports car seems to me to hit the nail on the head.
I just hope that Nikon will bring to market a body which will include a 24mm by 36mm sensor, have full manual control capability, a viewfinder that shows 100% of the sensor's area, even with glasses, and will accept old Nikkors. It seems that the Nikkors of yesteryear should be more than up to the task for digital's resolution, even at 9 Mpxls.
