Absolutely correct.

I pointed out the fact that JPGs are lossy, simply because I'm not sure most people were aware of that fact, given the "newness" of digital --- learning the ropes and all. Basically, I didn't know if most people realize they should be careful if they are working with JPGs, and resaving often.

But I think you made a very good clarification of my point -- simply transferring JPGs from one medium to another will NOT degrade the image further
