I love the camera! it is incredible and what a great option for the business. No more film! I am learning the camera. I have shot print film for so long that switching to digital it is almost like shooting slide film. What I find though is that I get hot spots. Anytime a subject is in the sun, it blows them out. Unfortunately, there is no information in the hot spot section so I have a difficult time correcting it and creating a balance.
Everyone talks about what incredible exposure than camera gets, I find the exposures are all over the place. For instance: Backlit situation, using the sb-28x flash: In Matrix metering it seems to balance for the background. I need to shoot spot with the flash in order to get the person looking decent. I am wondering if there are any calibration standards for the camera?
For the good stuff...Dare I even say this....Nikon D1x High jpeg mode at 20x24 renders a print so clear and crisp that it blew my medium format away. (645) I just want to fix the hotspots!!
