I would certainly give the support response a shot. What do you have to loose. I would try another card - you cerrainly need more than one anyhow.
Your battery should be refreshed at least after every ten charges. What you describe is quite common. In fact, when my battery first shows low I will turn the camera off, remove the battery, reinsert it and turn the camera back on - it will usually show full again. This is most useful if it seems to be showing low too soon.
