If you see haze through the viewfinder then it's not going to be caused by dust on the sensor - that plays no part in the optical path as you look through the viewfinder. I'd guess it's some problem with the zoom lens.

The little dots in your photos are caused by dust, though. You'll notice they become smaller and darker as you stop down the lens - hence the method Nicholas outlined of shooting at f/22 to see just how much dust you have.
