Jay, Agreed (Nikon quality). I just threw in the towel and set to +0.7 and forget about what it SHOULD be. I have both at +0.7 (Camera exposure AND flash compensation). The way I understand this: camera exposure will address the overall picture (in this case the environment (background)). The flash compensation will compensate for the immediate subject that you want to fill for. This makes sense to me and I have very pleasing flash results by taking this as by base settings.
